A Tip to improve our Home Kitchens!

A tip to improve our House Kitchen:

During the holidays i painted our Kitchen, rather than change the doors etc;
I cannot believe the value and the freshness it created to this major part of the House.

What i did is unclip one of the doors in the Kitchen, drove down to the local Dulux paint shop for advice on how to go about the Job.

Dulux was so helpful, they explained to wash and lighly sand down the laminex, using a small orbital sander.

I purchased a pre coat that you rub on, this helps paint stick to a smooth surface like laminex, let it soak in for 4 hours hours, then over the next couple of days i applied 2 coats of undercoat and three final coats of a
top coat.

All paint was acrylic, no oil based paint, so no smells and drying time was very quick.

I only painted the outside doors with a roller and a brush for the edges the inside of the door did not need painting.

Another good tip was we threw out the old handles and had a Carpenter come in and installed new handles we purchased from Bunnings warehouse.

Total cost $320, i am sure i have added at least $3K - $4K in value to the home and made it alot easier to sell in the future. In the meantime it is such a joy to be in this room, it seems so big, light and airey.

If i can do it, i know you can do it.
